I was sitting here at my desk a few minutes ago and heard the sound of “The Avengers” theme tune playing in the living room. So I went into the living room VERY excited because, you know, Diana Rigg* was really something else in the 60s.
Anyway, my excitement was wasted because as soon as I got to the TV set, I saw that it was an episode from the last season of the show – the season which featured Linda Thorson opposite Patrick Macnee instead of Honor Blackman or Diana Rigg.
Ain’t nobody got time for that.
*: My late friend Roy, the quintessential English gentleman, a man who never commented on the physical appearance of any woman because he was, despite being born in 1918, definitely an early and very ardent feminist, once said, “If I had to say someone I’ve found attractive…Diana Rigg always had the right-type look to my mind.”
