Orange Claw Hammer

Look, I went to lunch with Jeannette and I wrote an 1800-word Citizen Jim story today called “Frownland.”

The story was inspired by a documentary I watched early this morning about the Captain Beefheart album Trout Mask Replica.

Look at that album cover! Now imagine what the music must sound like! Do you seriously think it’s possible for me to have anything left inside me to blog about?

(No, you didn’t read that wrong: I said a “Citizen Jim story,” not a “Hugo Sark story.”)

(But that’s another story for another day.)

I’m going to bed to continue readingĀ Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens. It feels very contemporary so far. I don’t know if that’s real, or if my mind is just playing tricks on me. (Here is a link to the novel on Project Gutenberg: click here, dummy!)
